Launched in January 2024, the CityMove project is a groundbreaking global initiative dedicated to promoting physical activity in urban environments. With support from nine organisations and a team of 50 international researchers, CityMove is studying 13 physical activity actions in six cities across Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
CityMove’s mission is clear: to explore how active urban spaces can reduce the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) while fostering healthier lifestyles in diverse urban settings.
Kickoff Meeting in Bogotá
On 23 May 2024, CityMove officially launched in Bogotá, Colombia. The event highlighted the project’s objectives, shared the vision of creating active urban spaces, and connected with stakeholders invested in healthier, more active cities.
