Tools for Action

Find practical resources created throughout the project to support the design, implementation and evaluation of physical activity actions. It includes guidance, templates and frameworks that can be adapted by cities and organisations to strengthen active and healthier urban environments.

Theory of Change

CityMove Theory of Change

Explore the first version of the CityMove Theory of Change, developed collaboratively to map how activities, outputs and outcomes connect to long term impact. It brings together core context elements, stakeholder inputs and early lessons to help explain how change happens across different city settings. As a work in progress, the Theory of Change will continue to evolve as new evidence and insights emerge throughout the project.

Living Labs

How to Create a Living Lab

This practical manual introduces the LAB Kit, a hands-on method to help cities design or refine an Urban Living Lab. It guides teams through key strategic questions, essential activities and early planning steps to shape a shared vision and structure for their lab. The manual offers templates, prompts and exercises that support collaboration in a single workshop or across several sessions, helping partners explore goals, roles, resources and next steps. It can be used when starting a new Living Lab or to reflect on and strengthen an existing one.

Evaluation tools

Evaluation Plan for Late-Stage Actions

This resource outlines the approach that CityMove will follow to evaluate the late-stage interventions across the six cities. It brings together the RE-AIM and PRISM frameworks, along with additional implementation outcomes, to guide how we assess reach, acceptability, adoption, feasibility, fidelity, adaptation and sustainability. The plan explains the methods for collecting and analysing data, and highlights how contextual factors shape implementation. It offers a shared structure that research teams can use to ensure consistent, evidence-based evaluation throughout the project.
